On top of the world!!

Today we took our first family hike. We went to the REI garage sale this morning looking for a child carrier for hiking. We actually were able to find one that was nearly $300 retail and got it for $150!! It was amazing. We wanted to go on a hike today so with our awesome new carrier we were ready to go.

Here's Edmond riding in style and comfort in his new carrier! He loved it.

He was so comfy he slept more than half the way.

We live close to Millcreek canyon so we went up there to see what hikes there are. We ended up deciding to go on the Burch Hollow trail. We'd never done it before and had no idea how long it was or how hard but we just started walking.

As we went along we wondered how far away the top was. It looked pretty far but we thought "We'll just keep going until we're tired and turn back."

As we got farther along we thought we might really be able to make it to the top so that became our goal.

Long story short, WE MADE IT! To the top of a mountain! 3.5 months old and Edmond has already made it to the top of a mountain. This kid's going places.

While at the top we roasted up some homemade frozen burritos. We were pretty hungry, frozen burritos have never tasted so good!

When at the top of a mountain with a baby it's almost a sin not to re-enact The Lion King...(enter "The Circle of Life" music...). "Look, [Edmond]. Everything the light touches is our kingdom."

We also took some pretty great pictures and panoramas.

Can you see me....REALLY small in the middle? A little blue speck.

So there is it, you've just come along with us on our first family hike. It was pretty great.
